I love this photo. The variations of brown and textures in the bird, the rushes and the background are lovely. I am craving butterscotch pudding. I also like the layers of bull rushes. I like that you have included the texture in the bottom right as bull rushes are so tall and skinny I don’t like to cut them off. That said it would also be interesting to see a landscape or square crop with just the top of the rushes as you have such a lovely minimalist background.

So that’s where they all go! One of the surest signs of spring is to hear the RWBB calling. Won’t hear that for six months, but at least I can enjoy this. I love the size differential and sense of scale with the cattails and the bird. And that color palette - butterscotch indeed! Super.
