My favorite spring bird.
Any thoughts appreciated.

They are very neat birds, Allen. This is a beautiful composition. I don’t know if it’s the light, the bird, or the processing, but he looks a bit rough in the plumage.
HI Allen, love the branches and complementary background. Nice exposure in what seems like strong light. A fine image.
It takes several years for the males to develop that pristine, black plumage. Lighting is very contrasty, but you have controlled shadows and highlights very well. I do like that you did not cut off the branch tip at the top of the image. Well done…Jim
What a beautiful perch to go with a stunning background. This would have been pretty without the bird but you nailed this one with the bird. Yeah, the light might be a bit harsh but still a very nice image. The head is not bisected by the branches and the colors of his wings perfectly match the buds and stems. I might be tempted to reduce the contrast and texture and even the sharpening which may be causing some of the crunchiness in the blacks of the bird. Easy enough to fix though. Terrific capture, Allen!!
Amazing background adds to the beauty. I love their song. Very distinctive.
