The setting is busy, but uniform, so the hawk stands out very well, David. I like the head turn. Due to the angle of light and the acute visual angle, the top of the head looks washed out and you might want to think about taking some artistic license with it and boosting the contrast/cutting back on the exposure (or the local adjustment brush in LR with a bit of dehaze). Excellent image.
