Rippled and Reflected #4: Swirling Colors

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

This one is very different…a complete sense of motion with all of the colored swirls. Since the ss is 1/800 s, there is unlikely to be any “motion”, this is most likely the rippled shape of the water surface as it races away from the cascade.

Specific Feedback

Yes, it’s a totally different “feeling”. As with all abstracts, it’s appeal will be specific.

Technical Details

R5, 180mm macro, 1/800 s, f/5, iso 640, tripod, AI noise reduction, 65% of full frame.

Oh, I like this, Mark. I’m surprised though that the SS is 1/800. It reminds me of ICM shots but I know it’s the water in motion, not the camera.

Regardless of whether there’s any actual motion or not, it certainly conveys that feel, Mark. Another beautiful image from this project.

Mark: “Mardi Gras” was my first impression. Great explosion of color and another one requiring :smiling_face_with_sunglasses: to view. Most excellent. >=))>

Mark, I can see an exhibit consisting of a rectangular or square block of 16 of these abstracts. Set on a white wall, it would blow my mind!
