Specific Feedback

I had trouble with the crop here, with all the messy surrounding leaves.
Does this work?
It was also pretty dark among the leaves, so this is brightened up as best I could.
Still too dull ?

Very cool, Sandy and bright enough that it jumps off the screen. Very well done.

Spring is in the air! Really nice colors and detail. I like the green BG. It really sets them off.
THANKS

Definitely not too dull. Honestly, my initial impression was that you used flash, given how bright they are.

I see what you mean about the composition thanks to the uncooperative leaves. I wonder if just getting them in the lower third with a slight crop from the right (losing the end of the leaf on the right edge) and maybe a tick off the bottom is the best bet, as that takes advantage of the sloped directionality of the branch. Centering with a left crop would also work better than the current placement, IMO.

So that’s how they do it…I 'm fine with the crop and the half leaf on the RS. I might try taking down the saturation on the green a bit, Sandy; it looks like it bleeds into your two subjects. I like the diagonal and the axillary budlets.

Sandy: Marvelous subjects and a fine capture. I think the crop is fine but I would definitely make the partial leaf on the right edge go away. The one in the LRC is fine and I would not crop tighter. Nice find and a color junkie’s delight. >=))>

Sandy, I really like the detail and especially the colour in this image. The reds on the moths contrast really nicely with all of the greens in the background.

I’m curious though, where and when was this photographed? We still have snow here in the great white north!

Oh, they are beautiful. I love the designs/markings on them. Great find and capture.

Beautiful image Sandy. Great how the intense colors of the moths stand out with the green of the background. I think it might be better to remove the leaf sticking out from the right side midway up, but the leaf in the LR corner doesn’t seem to distract too much.

I’m good with your crop here Sandy. This is a really nice image of mating moths. I love their bright colors against the plain green BG. This is really nice.
