Intriguing image Joao. The strong lines and shapes are engaging and ask, “What’s this about?” I haven’t figured it out, but I’m enjoying the process. Great abstract.

I really like these type of images. This is about more than roots and pebbles to me. It takes me on a journey and each viewer will have his own journey. Great job for seeing the potential in this small intimate.

It’s amazing how beautiful little things become when composed in a frame like this. I really like the fullness and roundness of the rock, contrasting to the skinniness of the line shapes. Super job seeing this!

That is very nice JoĂŁo. The larger rock is interesting but the small rock really gives the shot a nice focus.

Totally agree with this. Lots to like here! I find myself wishing there was just a tad more room on the top of the frame.

Oooh, nice! That color palette is quite pleasing. The water washing over the dark rock must be just beautiful. I sort of wish that uppermost light band had more room above it, but there probably was something there to interfere. You could crop below it, but I think that would ruin the rhythm of the horizontal lines. Anyway, this is quite well seen.

Very interesting image João. The “grid like” pattern of the lines create a gorgeous background and that stone is a very compelling focal spot.
So simple and yet so graphical. Very well done.

Cheers

All said above so I’ll just add a thumbs up! Arresting and lovely!

I agree with both @AndreDonawa and @Igor_Doncov about trying to figure out what this all about and that each viewer will have their own journey. I love the rich and contrasting color pallet as well. This was a scene most would have likely walked right past without a second glance so good of you to notice and capture this. I really love it.

Very intriguing and captivating image. Fascinating set of details, lines, shapes and colors all coming together. Really well done.

JoĂŁo,

Indeed quite a fascinating image, both in subject matter and in composition. The lines and placement of the stone could be an example image - sort of… for the “rule of thirds”.

It’s also hard to tell the difference between the roots and the cracks - at least I think there are both going on here?

I too wish for more up top. If for no other reason than to allow more of the story to be told as to the little roots reaching out. But for sure, the story of the roots is a big part of this one. I think.

Hard to think of anything that could change or improve this. This is quite unique actually.

Thanks for sharing!

Lon

I just like the preciseness of this image. Those delicate lines and that white rock on a dark background. There’s something very appealing about this image. I wouldn’t fret over how close that main root is to the frame.

Thank you all for your kind words and comments.

@AndreDonawa , @David_Haynes and @Igor_Doncov ; this is a very strange rock formation with, I believe, some sort of quartz within another black rock. It just rocks there, no root at all.

@Matt_Payne , @Bonnie_Lampley and @Lon_Overacker; In fact the composition is a little “tight”, to say the least, but I really had to frame like that since the rock next to it was totally different, and would ruin my picture.
