99% of the time it’s an anna’s that comes in to our feeder. Rarely a rufous. I got a female to pose some for me this morning. Yay!

Nice job, Dave. The body of the hummer is just a trifle soft, but not bad. I like the wing position.

Hi Dave, nice seeing the colors and patterns on this beauty even though the bird is angled slightly away from us. I agree with Dennis - nice wing position and the body is a bit soft. Cropping looks good to me.

Lovely catch!! I wonder if some of the softness on the belly is due to “rotor downwash” from those wings?

I think that the softness of the white belly feathers is due to the amount of Noise Reduction used. Its a tough trade-off for detail vs noise reduction. Whites are clipped to a certain degree as well. However, the BG is nice and goes well with the color of the hummingbird. The buffy orange is very nice and the wing position is very good as well. A good catch for sure of a very challenging subject…. Jim
