Image Description

This was photographed in the Badlands NP. Our workshop group was spread out in the little viewed or hiked areas of the landscape. Almost anyway you looked there were great scenes to observe and capture.

The TONE and Composition really caught my Eye. The Lines in the center are really cool. Using Silver Efex as a plug in ??? Works Great in B&W … The texture is really interesting…Very Cool Image

Robert This is pretty special. Love the comp with just the right amount of sky and the leading lines and textures of the land forms. Badlands is a magical place and you’ve presented it brilliantly. Top notch shot. >=))>

Thank you, Gill for the comment. They have made some improvements to Nik recently that make masking easier. Bob

Thank you, Bill. Yes the Badlands are a special place and the features perfect for this particular challenge. Bob

Hi Robert,
This is a very dynamic B&W image of the Badlands and that drama laden sky only reinforces that mood. I am enjoying those lines in the FG and the way they funnel the eye into this scene. I also like the wide range of tones. just curious; was this High Structure Smooth in Silver Efex? I ask because I use that for most of my B&W’s and this looks similar. This is definitely a grand view and nicely done.

Thank you so much for the comments, Ed, and the question. I believe that I used the “Dark Sky” Silver Efex 7 preset and added a subtle vignette. Bob Engle
