This is a wonderful wildlife portrait Dave. The exposure and the crop look just fine to me and I love that orange eye. The only thing I might suggest; and this is being pretty picky; would be to try and clone a little snow over those two lighter brown areas just under the bird as they catch my eye just a little. Really nice image; I like this.

Dave, this is a great look at this Towhee. The eye really stands out and grabs my attention.

Very good image of a Towhee, Dave. While it will help to clone some snow over those two bits of brownish leaves, it is also quite natural to see it the way you have it, and that cloning is a personal choice. I think the composition is overall fine with the eye having such impact!

The image is fine as presented. You captured plenty of detail in the snow and your comp is fine. The head turn also adds something tgo the comp. Well done…Jim
