Critique Style Requested: Standard
The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
Although I process most of my raw files in color, there are some images that work better with either subdued colors or just plain black and white. Color played a very minor role in this scene when I came upon it. I like to take the original raw file with all the color and immediately convert it to monochrome to see if it portrays the mood better. In this case I subdued what little color there was in the land, and left a little more of the blue color in the sky. This version of the image seems to best represent the feeling I had when witnessing this beach scene in person.
Specific Feedback
Any general feedback regarding the impact of this image would be most appreciated. Is there too much color left in the sky, or not enough? Thanks.
Technical Details
f/9, 1/80 sec, ISO 100
Processed in Adobe Camera Raw by desaturating different colors in the image, and leaving some color visible.
