Stonecrop, Sedum spathulifolium

The Stonecrop was especially photogenic on the WNPS Field trip to Cypress Island, WA. I appreciate any comments.

A lovely sedum, Don. I love the snowflake designs, and the lichen makes a wonderful neutral background to show off the plant.

It’s nice to see someone concentrating on our native plants.

I quite like this one, Don. Nice composition, and I’m a fan of the bright yellow/red contrast. I do wish there were a bit less detail in the background (to show off the plant even more).

I acted on Jaymes’s suggestion about the background by darkening it. This is something I often do to reduce a distracting background but didn’t in this case. Looking at the revised image, I like it better. Thanks.

I also applied the same technique to another Sedum image that I hope to post in the next few days.

Don: A great find and a really good capture and comp. I do like your adjustment but the original is OK by me. Most excellent.>=))>

I like the adjustment better. Good suggestion by Jaymes

Love the colors of these flowers. What a find. The original is better as it looks more real.

This is a lovely look at the sedum, and I think darkening the background has helped quite a bit with bringing out the the main attraction. The colors are very vibrant, almost glowing.
