The heart of the garden

This time of year it is quite easy to spend an hour in the garden, camera in hand, and enjoy seeing the world through the lens. Even if I end up deleting all the photos , it is both a chance to learn what is possible and to take the time to see more and more clearly. Bleeding heart is a flower I enjoy seeing from many angles and found this one to be particularly lovely. I ended up not realizing the ISO had jumped so high (2000) until I was processing but found the end result of a softened photo to be just fine.

Nice image, John. I like the shallow DOF and wonderful background. I was just out at our local Rose Garden this morning walking around, hand held with a 110 mm f/2 lens. Can’t wait to see if I got anything. Even if I didn’t as you said it’s wonderfully fulfilling.
