The Third Nuthatch

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

With all the white-breasted and pygmies lately, the Red-breasted Nuthatch was feeling left out and asked me to post his picture. Taken yesterday on my daily walk.

Specific Feedback

Any thoughts appreciated.

Very nice! I’ve never seen one – maybe we don’t have enough conifers? Send some down here and I’ll give them equal attention with their White-breasted cousins.

Nice find, Allen. I have seen one near my feeders years ago but never had a chance to photograph.

Nice job on this, Allen. The only nit is that tuft of feather sticking out of the side. The selection wasn’t quite fine enough (those little tufts are very difficult) and you did something to the background or foreground so the selection shows there. Not a very big deal.

Nice job on this image. Where I am and probably where you are, we rarely see the other types of nut hatch. All of ours are pretty much red breasted.

A very nice look at this RBNH. If you have some extra room to add to the top, then that would be my only minor suggested edit. High key presentation looks fine…Jim
