The tree

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Most trees are bare now and the photographic possibillities are shrinking. Winters are seldom cold anymore, snow and ice are rare and the landscape waits for the spring to come again. November weather tends to be drizzle and wind.
But this day there was a characteristic tree in late, low light that caught my eye.

Specific Feedback

Does the tree stand out enough against the environment, to be interesting?
Any thoughts about the selected crop?
Do you wish the sky to be darker?

Technical Details

Pentax K3 Mk. III, Pentax 2.8/50-135 @115mm, ISO1600, f/5.6, 1/800s.
Cropped the original 3:2 to the current image, increased contrast in the trees slightly and darkened the sky a bit.

Han,

To answer your questions, I do not think it stands out from the surrounding foliage. It does standout nicely against the sky and I do think if the sky was darker, it would stand out even more. As is, I do not think it stands out. The light falling on it is very rich though.

Thanks @Youssef_Ismail for your comment. Much appreciated.
