Description

Finding beauty in the winter forest, using my LensBaby lens. I enjoy photographing milkweed seeds, and this one blowing in the wind reminded me of a ballerina. I enjoy the selective focus of the Lensbaby, and the soft backgrounds it gives. Trying to compose and shoot this image made me smile, watching her dancing in the wind.

Just plain gorgeous, Mary. Excellent work.

Beautifully done. I love to photograph milkweeds, but have never been this successful.

Mary, this is a great photo of a single milkweed seed. These are very challenging, so you’ve done very well here.

Thank you @Dennis_Plank , @Jim_Gavin and @Mark_Seaver . It took a bit of luck, many high-speed bursts and some cloning out with PS. I am inspired by Anne Belmont to look for beauty in the smaller scenes that are everywhere. Thank you again for your kind words.

Mary, I can see how the image got it’s name. It does remind me of a dancer. Excellent image.

Mary: Not an overtly obvious Lensbaby shot which for me is so much the better. I too love milkweed seeds and you have rendered this one superbly. Terrific shot. >=))>

Thank you @Shirley_Freeman and @Bill_Fach . Bill, I understand your thoughts about obvious Lensbaby shots. I almost always use f4 or higher while shooting, I like some part of the image to be “sharp enough”.
