Critique Style Requested: Standard
The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
Another recent ICM, and I’ve gone back to my previous method of two layers of similar shots from the same scene, combined with blending modes. It usually gives a richer result, for my taste.
Specific Feedback
All comments welcome!
Technical Details
Two simple ICM swipes seconds apart of the same scene, stacked in PS, this time with the top layer in Soft Light mode and tweaked with a clipped Curve to increase contrast a little. Some minor distortion.

Diane… I find ICM photography so interesting. I have done a few. You have once again captured a beautiful abstract image. The blues and browns work well and leaves me courious on what this might be. Really cool and different.
Dianne, I love this picture. I have done ICM pictures before and recently was reminded of this technique. I love the dark blues in this picture. I am inspired to get out there and move my camera. Thank you!
I really like this one, Diane. The upward flow is very strong and the rather strong colors for an ICM manage to work well in this composition.
Thanks, @Gill_Vanderlip, @Rikki_Neukom and @Dennis_Plank! This was a small group of scraggly, unsightly trees. I shot a bunch of swipes and in the Lightroom filmstrip I used my native ESP (possibly aided by a glass of nice wine) to choose two that spoke to me. Doing layers and blending modes gives greatly enhanced colors, and clipping adjustment layers and the occasional masking gives huge flexibility.
