Description

Another from July, when I was having fun harassing the Acorn Woodpeckers with creative placement of the suet feeder. (Still would be, but I got busy with more productive endeavors.)

Technical Details

Only slight global adjustments in LR and NR. Into PS to remove part of the feeder on the right edge. Didn’t need to mess with the BG here. Cropped to 60% of the original pixels.

An unusual pose, but I guess they’ll do what’s necessary to get food. Good detail and pleasing background, Diane.

Diane, a truly fun take here on this bird but not lost in the image is the excellent quality for sure. I know when I get upside down I always hang on with everything too…Very Cool… :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:
No thoughts for change at all… :+1:

Looks like he’s channeling his inner Nuthatch. A very fun image and well done, as always.

Upside Down !!! What an interesting shot and you caught it with your camera. Amazing !!! Very Cool Diane

Wonderful image Diane! Love the upside down pose - what a fun shot! Pleasing background too.

Thanks, @Allen_Brooks, @Paul_Breitkreuz, @Dennis_Plank, @Gill_Vanderlip and @Allen_Sparks! These things are a strange mix of natural clowns and guard dogs. But for all the bullying they do at the feeders and bath, they are total chickens. It’s funny to watch them do a flyby with a sudden change of course or abort a landing when they see me.

This is great: the upside down bird arrests one’s attention, and the composition is perfect. I can’t see how it could be improved.

I’m always running late to parties. I love this! I think the title of the image also has a good deal to play with this one. That little splash of red! Wow. Beautifully shot and processed Diane. Look how his little toes are interlocked.

I have a whole collection of unusual bird poses that make me laugh. I might start posting a few … just for fun.

Thanks, @delton and @glennie! Glennie, post away!! It’s always refreshing to see the unusual side of things!
