Watching his pond

Image(s)

Image Description

Blue Dasher dragonflies are one of the most approachable dragonflies. The males will sit on exposed perches and watch the nearby water for rival males and females. This one was far enough out that I couldn’t get close enough to fill the frame, but I did like the background colors and the sense of his watchfulness that the background pastels provide.

Mark: A terrific capture of this guy. The BG is indeed marvelous and the detail on the dasher is superb. Most excellent. >=))>

I love the blue green color palette in this one Mark. I also like your exaggerated compositional placement in the lower left quadrant. This is a great image.

Nice us of the negative space and the light colors in the background. I also like that the lines in the BG lead you to the dragonfly. With such a shallow DOF, it really shows off the details of the subject. So nice.

Excellent detail and very cool BG colours. The placement in the frame is very appealing.
Great catch!

Oh, I like that BG, Mark. Very nice. It makes the Blue Dasher stand out nicely on his perch.
