Hi Everyone,
I’ve been an NPN member for a while, but I have yet to post on the new site. Just too busy with my (ahem) day job. Nonetheless, I wanted to share some work relevant to each critique area as a way of reintroducing myself.
This is one of several flower/bee or hoverfly shots I have made over the years. The colors (fireweed with the yellow and black bee and a green background) make it one of my favorites.
Nonetheless, I generally post for the purposes of getting feedback, so please feel free to share your thoughts, including any shrugs of utter ennui.
What technical feedback would you like if any
What artistic feedback would you like if any?
suggestions for improved comps, color balance, contrast are all helpful and always welcome.
As sharp a rendering of the bee as could be, Marylynne. No comments otherwise, as, with shots of this kind, you can’t really compose for formal qualities - this makes its point well with the excellent capture. Nice to see you posting again !
I really like the composition here, Marylynne. The flower is perfectly positioned in the frame for my taste and I like the position of the bee. No suggestions for improvement here.
Really close to perfection on the flower, bee and BG. Having put up some rather dubious titles myself, I understand your feelings. However, an accurate title is at the beginning view of the image for a reason; it tells the viewer what he/she is about to see and what your intent is as an artist. Having said that, your subject line does give a bow to the bee.
Marylynne: Welcome to NPN 2.0 and to a flora community that is reviving nicely. I like the party crasher and the color palette especially. Great to have you back aboard and looking forward to lots more.>=))>
