Is this a composite: No
Canon R5, Sigma 150-600mm, f7.1, 600mm, 1/2000, ISO 800. The shot is cropped by 60% into a 16 By 9 and I reduces the highlight in DXO Photo Lab 4.
This is one of my favorite one of yours! It’s a really cute photo with a perfect title. But it’s also a beautifully photographed landscape too. Great capture, Peter!

Peter, this is delightful. The Heron looks astonished and it’s head stands out very well from the colorful surroundings. It does seem that you misunderstood the “topic”, since you’ve posted a number of shots on the same day, rather than creating a single post with multiple photos.
I really thought this was a credible image when you first posted. It just screams environment. Well composed with excellent color, detail, and depth of field.
