It had to be difficult to wrangle the dynamic range of this scene but you managed it perfectly. The shadows are dark but there’s enough detail to hold attention and the highlights are bright but not blown. I like how the two foreground trees essentially frame the lighted grasses. This is a lovely image and I’ve got no critique to offer.
Hi Ben,
I love how you take an ordinary scene and turn it into something extraordinary. The light is just flat out gorgeous and lures the viewer perfectly in this woodland image. I also am enjoying the trees along the right and left edges of the frame and the way they seem to frame everything. Just curious; are the white flowers wild garlic? No suggestions from me as this is perfection.

What else can I say than Thank you for your nice, positive comments. The white flowers I think you call them " cow parsley". Ben
I love the Rembrandt approach to nature you often use. Except that Rembrandt always added this golden cast to his work. Yes it’s immediately recognizable as one of yours.
I really enjoy how many of your images have an inviting aspect to them. The light opening a path through the darkened woods does that here. It makes me want to take a stroll.
You certainly had a lot of dynamic range to deal with on this image Ben but I’d say you successfully pulled it off. The overarching trees seem to be casting enough shade to allow that shaft of light to hit those wonderful flowers on the forest floor creating a “White Blanket.” AS is per usual with your images, this is immediately recognizable as one of yours. It’s always about the interaction of the forest with the light in artistic ways and this image is no different. Makes me want to pack a picnic basket, lay down on that white blanket and enjoy the afternoon in this enchanting setting. Well done, Ben!
