David, I like his pose for you, with the head turn, and the position of his beak. Nice details. I think you managed the light well for mid afternoon. I can certainly see how this could be a favorite.

David, the details show well in the large view. Nice job getting the bird sharp and retaining the whites. I’m also very attracted to the big red legs and feet, they’re quite impressive relative to the rest of the bird. (Guess that’s part of being “a wading bird”… :grinning:.)

This is a nicely posed and detailed capture of this bird, David! Excellent control of the exposure also (good detail in the white feathers)l.
