Winter time is color time

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I saw the colors out of my office (home) window, jumped into my car, and found this view in the next bay. November colors along with February are my favorite time at 68°N on Lofoten Islands

Welcome Jann! Usually it doesn’t take this long for some feedback on your image; I guess we are all a bit busy these days!

I’m enjoying this image. The obviously fading light seems to sing the end of the day., and the cold/warm color balance is very attractive. I like the interest that is present from the foreground to the distance.

I’m curious that the high clouds at the top of the image seem soft, since most of the image is quite sharp. I’d expect it all to be fairly sharp at 1/320 sec., but maybe they were just naturally that way?

Welcome from me too Jann. I like everything about your image, especially the foreground that is a visual leader for the eye, moving toward and beyond the two other land masses in mid ground and background. Also, the complimentary blue and yellow work well with the yellow becoming the central place for the eye.
I cropped this some from the top as I think the crop helps to keep the eye on the main subject in the yellow area. You may disagree.

Beautiful image Jann. The color balance you have captured is striking moving from blue to yellow and back to blue again. I agree your foreground and mid ground draw you effortlessly into the background and clouds. I wonder how it would look if you cropped a little bit off both the bottom and the top of the image. Wish I was in Loften with you.
