Description
The veins in a fallen Cottonwood leaf in early morning light. I was fascinated by the variations in color and luminance of the leaf and how all the veins are connected to each other.

What a nice find, Yousesef. I do like the off-center composition. The variation in the size of the lines, and the directions they lead, yet all connecting makes this very interesting, and yes, holds my attention. The bottom half of that center stem, it seems like the light was harsher on it so I am wondering if darkening it down would improve this lovely image? Just a thought and it feels like that is nit picking.
I like the luminosity on this presentation of the leaf, Youssef, and yes, it does hold my attention. The composition works quite well. There does seem to be just a slight softening of the focus in the left third of the image, but it takes close inspection to notice it, so I don’t think it’s an issue for normal viewing-hanging on a wall, you’d never notice it.
Youssef, this view looks great. You must have looked hard to find a leaf in nearly perfect condition. You’ve got a fine collection of shapes, colors and brightness. Having the main vein off center works well. As with Shirley, I’m going to pick a minor nit… It seems like there’s a subtle loss of sharpness and contrast in the left hand ~1/4. I think that adding a bit more contrast with some darks burning would even out the viewing across the frame.
@Dennis_Plank, @Mark_Seaver , and @Shirley_Freeman thank you for the three extra pair of eyes in catching the subtle out of focus area on the left. I have applied a smart sharpen filter through a mask to give the left side a bit more sharpening before applying the regular sharpening image wide. I have also burned down the main vein a bit to tame that brightness near the bottom.
By the way, here is a whole leaf as I found it on the ground.
The underside of leaves always fascinates me too, Youssef, and you picked one with both great patterns and colors. I agree that the repost makes this top-notch.
