Autumn Still Life on a Pond

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I took this looking down from a foot bridge onto the pond. I liked the subtle color variations, textures, and dappled light. I darkened the background and increased saturation on the leaves. Thoughts?

This is beautiful Chris. The subtle colours and varying tones are wonderful, and creating the black background adds an ethereal feeling, for me anyway.

Chris: What a spectacular color palette and marvelous variety and detail in the leaves. The light is pretty special as well. Perhaps letting a very minute amount of BG come through to give a subtle hint of the environment would work too but your black does a great job of completely isolating the leaves. Well seen and superbly captured. >=))>

Chris,

Amazing, the leaves look like they are floating in space, I would never have thought they were actually floating on water. The colors are fantastic and the dappled light really sets them off against the inky black background. Well executed.

This is fantastic, Chris. I love the color palette of the leaves, the kind of metallic quality the reflections offer, and the totally black background.

No suggestions here.

Thank you. It turned out as I had envisioned when I took it.
