Hi David, looks really good to me. I like the pose with a good look at the head/eye and that curved beak. Really nice. The setting looks good too as a grasslands photograph with interesting perches and a fine BG. Well done.

The overall composition is pleasing with a nice pose/open beak, and a nice environmental aspect, and nice OOF background that complements the foreground.

Very nice, David. A great pose and excellent detail. I haven’t seen this particular thrasher, but the greens and tones of the bird make me think it’s just a bit over saturated.

Nice catch! I think the look of over-saturation that @Dennis_Plank mentions may be largely a matter of very high contrast. That camera has a great dynamic range and I wonder if the raw file has more leeway for darkening highlights and pulling out shadow detail?
