The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
This happy little fellow greeted me as I walked out the front door this morning. It hasn’t bloomed for several weeks despite the plant being healthy and growing. Our hibiscus seem to go through dormant periods and then start blooming like crazy again. Hope this is a preview of coming attractions. >=))>
Specific Feedback
Did a little bit of BG clean up but left the stuff in the LRC pretty much undisturbed. Didn’t like the image with the BG totally black. Also decided to use a shallow DOF with the emphasis on the stigma. Your thoughts?

Love at first sight! The shallow DOF highlighted some very interesting details. The BG looks just right, with hints of foliage – supporting but not distracting.
I have to gather some adventurous spirit and find out how much deer like them.
Sharpness where it counts and a great supporting cast as Diane mentioned. Exuberant is right, this flower almost appears to be dancing with a full on twirl. I like how you framed the stamen (?) against the rear petal. Lovely soft light, too. That garden is a wonder.
Hi Bill,
What a wonderful treat as you exit the front door! The shallow DOF works just fine for me as the focus is right where it needs to be. For my tastes the BG looks great as you get to see some of the supporting cast while the main focus is still the hibiscus. I also like the POV as you get a slightly downward look into the center. No suggestions from me.
