Description

A couple of years ago I spotted this little lady perching on an iris leaf every morning for several days. I was able to get closer with each shot and decided to put the high mag rig together and go for a tight portrait. This is full frame using my A77II with the 200mm macro and a 2x extender. Gorgeous, Bill. I never thought of using a doubler on my macro. I have my old Canon 180 macro and that might make a great system for real close-ups.

Bill, this is really nice. Wonderful details in he eyes. So glad that she stayed for you to get the shot. Yes, that 180 is a nice one @Dennis_Plank because sometimes they don’t want you to get but so close.

Wonderful capture! The eyes definitely have it!

Tons of detail in the eyes here, Bill. Did the 180 + doubler focus as close as the 180 alone? If so then you should be able to get to 2X. Including the perch works well also.

Great Macro Photography. !!!
