Description

Our Bird of Paradise does not like cold weather! Last week’s prolonged sub-freezing temperatures did quite a bit of damage but not quite as bad as last year when we lost all of its leaves. I love BoP leaves anyway but when the colors come out from the freeze damage they provide a unique opportunity. One of the unfortunate consequences of the plant recovering from winter damage is that it doesn’t flower as it seems to direct all its energy into rebuilding the leaves. I’m hoping that if we avoid more bad cold that it will recover enough this spring to give us some flowers. >=))>

Specific Feedback

Way too breezy to do a stack so single capture it is. Enough DOF?

The slightly OOF LLC and URC push the eye back to the center, which I think works well for this image.

Spring and new growth will be here soon!

Bill you know very well that plants and flowers can be beautiful with any wether and at any age. This photo is the prouve. Beautiful colors!

Very pleasing to the eye, Bill.

Nice. I like dead foliage. The lines and textures are revealed that are normally overlooked. The color of copper and aqua are lovely in this. The curving lines are appealing.

I love the colors and texture of this leaf, Bill. Personally, I think I’d remove the out of focus part of the leaf in the upper right corner as it seems too different from the rest of it to my eye.

A beautiful image…and while some may like it in B&W, I love the rich colors and thoughtful processing.
