I was fortunate to catch this fine looking male Northern Flicker while it was briefly in a spot of sunlight. A second later it was gone.

Indeed, a good catch with lots of fine detail.

We just have to contact the birds union rep., they are never on time and always more just as we set up for the shot. You have a very nice looking Flicker, good coloring, detail and eye contact. The only thing I would look at, is the hot spot on the tree, just above the bird’s head.

I like your Flicker image, Dave. Nice to get them in range and some what low to the ground. Agree on the hot spot and maybe just take down the sunlight on the gray throat . Nice focus and details on the amazing breast and wing markings .
