Description

There is some recency bias with this one but the Heceta Head lighthouse on the Oregon coast has been a favorite place of mine for almost my entire life. This year and last year I was able to shoot it from the ocean side with my drone. This is certainly my favorite shot of the light from this year and in the top two or three of all time.>=))>

I can see why, Bill. this is truly a wonderful scene. I feel you have really provided true justice to this iconic old lighthouse… :cowboy_hat_face:

Love it. I’ve been there, shot the lighthouse but nothing turned out like this. What a perfect use of a drone. Well done!

Bill, the view is spectacular. A fine sense of distance with lovely details and action in the surf.

I can see why this is your “favorite shot of the light” for this year. Quite spectacular. Great composition and depth with a 3D appearance. I assume you are going to print this, if you haven’t already. If so, I notice an orange spot in the trees above the beach on the middle, right side. It might become more apparent on large print. What a beautiful image!

Wow! Yes, a completely wonderful shot – the angle of the view and the surf are so perfect – I see why it would be an all-time favorite! I hope we get to see a lot more of your drone shots (and all the others, too) in the New Year.

Easy to see why this is a favorite, especially if this is a favorite location with so many memories for you. As I’ve mentioned, one of these days I need to buckle down and start playing with a drone…
