Heceta Sunset

Critique Style Requested: Standard

Description

I did a tour down the Oregon Coast last fall with one of my goals being to shoot the lighthouses from the ocean side with my drone. I spent many summers in Yachats with my grandmother as a child and return as often as I can. The Heceta Head light is one that I’ve explored and imaged many times but I was shooting for a different perspective. On this evening I was blessed with good light and good wave action. This is also a bit of a selfie as that speck of red against the fence is me controlling the drone. For those of you who might be interested, the keepers house down the hill from the light is a bed and breakfast, a really charming facility that I highly recommend. >=))>

Bill, the textures in the surf are eye catching. Then there’s the fine swerve of the land from the lighthouse to the bridge and beyond for some outstanding depth.

What a cool shot! I’ve been there, and photographed it but nothing like this. Magnificent use of a drone. Mighty fine.

Bill, a beautiful image of one of my favorite lighthouses - but from a very unique perspective.
The wave action definition is wonderful, and the soft colours outstanding.
Just excellent -

Fabulous shot @Bill_Fach. I recognized the light house and concluded this perspective was only capturable from the sky. Really nice work composing this. I don’t know how much drone photography you do, but personally, I’ve struggled to get the flying and shooting under my control simultaneously. I think I just need to take more time once I’m in the right general position.

I might try to stay at the b and b mentioned. Feel free to send me a link if you have the time and inclination. Yachats was our anniversary destination when we lived in Eugene.
