Sandy: Winter in Yellowstone is on my bucket list even though I am a thoroughly converted sun belt denizen. I would much rather sweat than shiver! Really nice conversion here that I think accentuates the cold. Makes me want to go there >=))>

Hi Sandy,
The conversion to B&W looks great and helps accentuates the cold mood you were trying to portray. You did a wonderful job of keeping some details in the white snow. I am not sure what is causing it, but edges on the right and left sides do not appear to be as sharp as the rest of the scene. The icicles are a nice element in the image and I really like the inclusion of that small evergreen in the imediate FG.

Sandy,

Congratulations on using a 500mm lens for a landscape photo. This has compressed the perspective so I need other help to gauge distance. The foreground is white, then the snow bank light grey, the ice fall grey and then white snow once more, etc. I think your photo may look better if the white snow in this area (and above) were made more grey so there is progressive gradient from white at the bottom becoming darker the higher you look, particularly within the ice falls.

I have never seen this sort of photo in real life, so please forgive if I am way off the mark.
