Description
Migrants are trickling in and several male Baltimore orioles are setting up territories in our backyard. This particular male is very striking with its vibrant orange and black body coloration and white wing bar and feather edgings on the wings.
Specific Feedback
How do you like the lighting and the comp? Normally, I set the fill flash at -1.3Ev and this shot was nade with the fill set at -0.7ev.

Z9 180-400mm with TC Engaged 560mm (1/1600 sec at f8.0, ISO 4000, Fill flash at -0.7Ev) DeNoise Levels, Curves, Bump up in Midtone Contrast, slight crop for comp.

Gorgeous bird, perch and BG!! My only very unnecessary suggestion would be a slightly tighter crop to show off the bird a bit more, but then you lose some of that lovely BG.

Hi Jim, this is a real wow image…what a gorgeous subject and pleasing background. Fine details and color. The lighting looks great rendering the details in the blacks. Well done. I like the composition. As Diane suggests, I’d be tempted to have two versions - this one and a tighter crop. The bird looks great in the larger view.

The -0.7 fill really made the orange pop beautifully, Jim. The composition is very nice. Excellent job and I envy you the orioles.
