Very little done to this one. The usual minor tonal work in LR then into PS for denoise. At ISO 3200 denoise becomes an important first step, and is the point where it really pays to compare the newer algorithms of Low Light and Severe Noise, looking into the darks at 100%. Cropped to 63% of the original frame. A very small piece of a support post removed at the bottom of the frame.

You’re really having a great time with the nuthatches, Diane. This is another beauty. I love the fluffed out look and the typical nuthatch pose.

I like this image. There are so many varieties of nuthatch. They’re all pretty cute. Fighting here in detail are excellent. Enjoyable composition

I just realized I never responded here! (Got busy with the comet – and now a second one on the way – an upcoming presentation to a university group studying corona detail in eclipses, and some clear dark nights for deep sky astro shooting.) So, many thanks, @Dennis_Plank, @Kris_Smith, @David_Schoen, @David_Bostock, @Allen_Sparks and @Allen_Brooks! I’m still driving them crazy and seeing more than I did a couple of months ago – word may be out about free food.
