I like this. The position of the main flower and the buds is very pleasing, giving this an Oriental feel. The oil paint texture is very nice and a good strength.
One thing that distracts is the dark green background at the top. The lighter background on the bottom 2/3 allows the flower and buds to standout, while they don’t standout as much on the green background. It might be a help to clone some of the lighter color into the upper area.
Nicely made. Good depth and color. The dark green BG doesn’t bother me.
Dan: I like your DOF choice here. I also like the webs extending between a couple of the buds. I actually like the dark BG up top. Nicely seen, captured and presented. >=))>
