The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
Parrots and lorikeets are quite common birds where I live. Sometimes we fail to see the beauty in the common. They 're inquisitive, sometimes noisy and always the clowns of the bird species.
The weather has been so awful. I’m stuck inside going through old folders and files. There are so many images I have forgotten about or have never edited in any way.
Specific Feedback
The images are heavily cropped to get the desired “portrait” effect. I’m never quite sure where to end a portrait.
Are the borders too wide?
Any suggestions or comments ?

All of these have excellent detail, Glennie. It’s amazing how much we can crop and still get a really nice web image. The frames don’t bother me-I think the drop shadows help with the wider frame. When we were in Australia 11+ years ago we saw quit a few, but they were always either flying over or in a tree so I didn’t get any portraits this nice.
Really fine portraits Glennie. Love seeing the variety you have shared with us here. Details and framing look good to me. Love the expression of each especially the calling pose of the last bird. Well done.
Beautiful portraits with vivid colour and very sharp detail. Great poses and very complimentaryBG.
For my taste, the borders ARE a little wide, but the drop shadow helps if you wish to keep them this width.
Really fine work here!
What a delightful collection! Parrots are so fascinating and such great subjects, and you have done them justice here. Excellent detail and lighting on all, and captivating expressions. I think the crops and borders are fine. And I think they are all plotting something.
A neighbor of past years had a Cockatoo and we could hear it across a field of maybe 100 yards. Now there are roosters there and I love hearing them in the mornings.
I hope your weather improves soon – in the meantime, please keep digging in the archives for us!
