Sandipan, youāve got excellent details in both crab and the anemones. At a quick glance, I thought there was a āstringā coming in from the right, but a closer look shows me that itās the crabās antennae, which is a fine inclusion.
A gorgeous image, Sandipan. Absolutely no nits from me. Did you have the end of the lens in the water? It looks as if you might since I donāt se any reflections at all.
Oh wow, this is really neat. Since I canāt swim, I always appreciate underwater images allowing me to enjoy what I normally canāt see. I went on a submarine ride in Hawaii some years back and thoroughly enjoyed myself. It is another world down there. I love everything about this shot.
Outstanding colors and textures. Everything works so well together. Iād wish for a bit better balance in the composition (the crab is sort of in No Manās Land), but overall itās a wonderful portrait.
Your lighting used for the shot is spot on and the reds look very good. Comp is fine, but a prudent crop placing the crab in the upper RH corner and some extra removed from the bottom too. Horizontal crop will also make the crab have a greater impact in the comp. Awesome photo as presentedā¦Jim
Sandipan: Fantastic subject and BG and a superb capture. I like your placement of the crab in the frame. Makes me wonder if there is some symbiotic relationship between the crab and the anemone. Iām also curious if you had your camera in a housing. Whatever you did this is a superbly crafted image. >=))>
@Jim_Zablotny@Bill_Fach Thanks for the comments. The Porcelain Crab and Sea Anemone share a symbiotic relationship. The crab gains protection from predators within the anemoneās stinging tentacles, while the anemone is kept clean and receives nutrients from the crabās waste and food scraps.
I had the camera and lens inside a āSea & Seaā housing.
