Snowberry Clearwing Moth

Here’s the other species of Clearwing that is present. It’s the Snowberry Clearwing (Hemaris diffinis). Best identified by the black stripe that runs down from the eyes to the thorax. Cropped to 66% of FF. Comparing this view and the previous view will tell you that it’s the same flower.

7D2, 100-400 IS II @ 300 mm, 1/2500 s, f/10, iso 2000, tripod with loosened head.

Well, this was certainly worth waiting to see, Mark. You did right, when you are called to eat, you go eat! You did a great job on this one as well with nice stop action and sharp details of the moth. They are so fast that I find it hard sometimes to even get my camera aimed at them before they have moved to another location.
