Tettigonid Hiding Below

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Sometimes you need to look twice. This tettigonid grasshopper nymph was lurking in the green spines below the bright thistle head at Madera Canyon, AZ.

Specific Feedback

I cloned out an OOF thistle head in the LLC. Not sure it really needed it, but I ran this through Topaz denoise to try to smooth out the BG a bit more.

Technical Details

Canon 60D, f10, 1/1600 sec, iso 320, -1 ex bias, 100-400 lens at 400 mm.

A very cool second-look image, Ed. I certainly didn’t notice the grasshopper in the small image until I read your title and started looking. Detail in the insect and the flower are excellent.

@Dennis_Plank, thank you.

Ed: In your face color for sure! I love thistles and this one is in such good shape. Your party crasher is a nice bonus. Well done. >=)>

Thank you very much @Bill_Fach
