The Yardbirds

No, not the British rock group from the 60’s. These, along with the Dark-eyed Junco, are the commonest birds at the feeder. I think these shots are typical of their behavior with the towhee more likely to be hidden, the chickadee to be on an open perch, but only for a second or so, and the sparrow to be more visible and will stay there for a while.

Pertinent technical details or techniques: Canon R5; all at 500 mm

Towhee: 1/1000; f7.1, -1/3EV ISO 800
Chickadee: 1/1000; f7.1, -1 1/3 EV; ISO 800
Sparrow: 1/640; f7.1, -1/3 EV; ISO 320

What a great group of cuties. Nice framing with the two on the ends in foliage. Looks like you have a popular place for them. You could lower the blacks in the chickadee if you want, they are usually a little deeper I think.

Nice trio of birds and a nice presentation.

I think your techs and processing look very good.

Hi Allen
You have given us a nice grouping of common backyard birds. Some times these birds are over looked, but in this case each bird is framed and exposed nicely. Good looking family album.
