Tiphiid Wasp in Solidago Canadensis

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

From the same session as the bumblebee I posted a few days ago. As I was leaving the area, I noticed this was feeding on the Solidago. As nearly as my abysmal lack of knowledge of insects goes, aided and abetted by Google image search, this wasp is in the Tiphiid genus, which are solitary wasps and, like most solitary insects, it doesn’t have much of a sting.

Specific Feedback

Is the upside-down pose an issue?

Dennis: I have a general aversion to wasps but agree they may occasionally be good subjects and this is surely one of those cases. I like your DOF management especially and the frame filling color. Nicely done. >=))>

Dennis, the pose looks very natural. This is a very colorful photo.

Dennis, he is a nice looking little guy and the flowers really compliment him.
