Whether up close or from a distance, the mornings when hoarfrost forms transforms life…and, of course, makes for some fine photography outings. This particular morning was an exceptional example and I was glad to have been in a place where I could see the changes to the area along the river.

An evocative composition. The muted colors and bare frost ladened trees give a somber mood and then the warm light from the river lifts that mood enough to evoke hope. Wonderful work. My only critique is not being able to see it larger.
A lovely view! The warmer reflections on the water are lovely. I wonder about a small crop from the top to remove the darker trees — they are a small detail but pull the eye slightly from the main subject.
There is a lot of depth in the scene and the mid-ground, where I want to see detail, looks soft. I wonder if you shot the same composition with more DOF?
John: I’ve been away from the gallery for a few days so when I revisited the thumbnail immediately caught my attention. Thoughtfully composed and very nicely captured. >=))>
