Hi Chris,
This so so cool looking with all of the swirls and shapes spread out across the frame. I am also enjoying the implied motion as those graceful lines take my eye around the scene. Beautifully done IMO.

Chris: I see a kitty looking in from the ULC. Wonderful patterns and details. A fine find superbly rendered. >=))>

A wonderful image, and so aptly named! I marvel at how shapes like this are formed. You have done a commendable job framing these features! No nits or even suggestions!

Excellent image, Chris. Looks like a caldron of lava… :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

@Paul_Breitkreuz @Diane_Miller Thank you very much.

The swirls are very cool. At first, I thought some of the very bright highlights should be brought down some, but doing so may make the image look flat. I think yur processing choice works very nicely. The composition is very nice and well balanced.

Good job!

Thanks. I had the same thoughts.

Excellent abstraction here. Well Framed with fine detail.

Definitely Van Gogh esk, Chris, the “woody woody knots”. This is a fine collection of knots and swirls, with the mix of warm and cool tones adding to the interest.

You can discover landscapes, creatures, eyes, and more. A truly fantastic image.

@David_Schoen @Mark_Seaver @kathrin Thank you so much for your comments.

Hey Chris – I too have been on a lifelong quest for great beach logs. I think the key to a breakout shot is to resist the urge to go B/W. The subtle colors, as you’ve included here, give beach log shots more character and mystery, reminding us they were once alive. I also like to catch them partially buried in shifiting sand, or complemented by dune grasses, bird skulls, etc. Fortunatly for photographers, these opportunities are constantly renewed by the winds and tides.

Thanks for your comment. Yes, there’s always something new at the beach. Sometimes I’ll go to a place I’ve visited before and I hardly recognize it. The waves and wind are constantly creating new landscapes.
