Pertinent Technical Details

This image was taken with an Olympus 60MM Macro lens. Due to the limited light. I used an ISO of 1250. It was shot at 1/160 @ f/7.1 . The focal length was 60mm

Very cool! This works really well, and the reflected flower is sensational! :+1:

No nits, here, Roger.

The water drop and its lensing of the flower behind feels very much like an eye, staring at me. Getting the drop the right distance from the flower behind to make this happen is a challenge that you’ve met well. I think your pano crop fits the shape of the flower nicely. BTW, the optical effect here is refraction, not reflection.

Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.

Thank you for your encouraging comments.

Thank your for your input. I saw that after I posted it and I tend to agree with you.

Mark is correct. It is a very interesting effect.

At first, I too thought it was a reflection, but the OP stated the flower was in the background off-camera.

Hi Roger,

This is a great example of squeezing a whole flower into a single waterdrop!
Very nice colors and composition!
The brighter spot along the blade of grass near the waterdrop has already been addressed, but I agree it would be better without it there. Of course that’s just my opinion.

Very well done!

I love the blurred BG and how its shape (and color) match the drop and refraction so neatly. The whole composition is very atttractive.

I missed this one earlier but have to add my applause! Very nicely done!

Roger: Mark beat me to it noting this is a refraction. Us optics guys can get prickly   You caught a great little lens here and I like your comp a lot. The little hot spot doesn’t bother me. Well seen and very nicely captured. >=))>

Hi Bill

Than k you for your comments. Guess I should have seen that hot spot before submitting it.
