This was truly a winter wonderland. I had hoped to meet a landscape with vistas of snow, while it was still coming down, and my hope was answered in the Northern Catskills. I was in awe! It was very welcoming, yet the weather didn’t let you forget the cold, or the white-outs that came along with the wind. I felt this shot was representative of the landscape, showing a particular tree in relation to the landscape beyond. There was a particular object in relation to the mystery of what was around, that effected me greatly.

Harvey: Brrrrr! That point comes across emphatically. I do like this as is. My immediate impression was that the tree dominates the scene so much that the BG is almost irrelevant. I’m OK with that but I’m wondering if you have a wider angle as well. I noticed that you shot this at 47mm. A wider angle (of course I have no idea what else was outside the edges) would make the tree smaller in the scene but would also depict it as alone standing against the elements. That said, I still like this as is and think you processed it well. Top notch shot. >=))>
