About This Image

The bees are very busy this time of year, and they seem to love this lavender bush in my yard. I set up my camera and a macro lens on a tripod and waited for one to land on this flower. There were several flying around so it didn’t take long to get this shot.

General feedback on the composition and the processing. Any and all suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks.

Aww, she’s lovely. And busy. Terrific details in this - all those little hairs are a marvel. Wish for two things - that you’d shaded the area or used some fill flash to soften the shadows and that you were a bit lower down. It is hard to predict where they will go, but if you can find a flower that works, I guess all you have to do is wait. I bet the smell is heavenly, too.

This is nice and sharp. Excellent detail excellent color. Did you use the flash?

Ted, I like the lighting and how it shows off the bee’s eye and all of the fuzzies, both on the bee and the flower. Patience in macro is always a virtue.

Ted, I like how the flower frames him in nicely. You captured some nice details in the bee.

Ted: A terrific subject very nicely captured. I would b very tempted to crop this tighter since there is such marvelous detail in the bee and the OOF stuff above doesn’t do much for me. Just my 2¢ but still a fine shot as is. >=))>

All I have to say is this is a gorgeous photograph with the right crop worthy of metalic print. Job well done.
Thank you
