The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
I haven’t taken or posted photos of flowers for many years. Recently visiting my archive of flowers I met some image that gave me the desire of posting some of them. I like these images non only for the beauty, since all flowers are all beautiful, but for some emotion that I felt. Therefore I will post some photos that have an emotional component, at least this is what I feel.
Specific Feedback
The green in the background is too dark?

Gigi, this is a beautiful dahlia, and the water drops are exquisite. It seems quite dark, though , even for nighttime (maybe that is the mood you wanted?) to the extent that the drops are lost in some areas. Brightening it up would add some “pop” both the flower and the drops.
Lovely capture! Looking forward to more of your flora posts!
@SandyR-B yes I took the light a bit low for the emotional mood but from a photographic point of vew is surly better a brighter light as you suggested. For the emotion I am still thinking wich is better. What do you think?
Thanks Sandy, the brighter version is on the top.
Gigi: I do prefer the brighter version but both work for me. I think we get so accustomed to expecting certain presentations that a different one often gets an initial negative impact until one looks more carefully and thoughtfully. I’m also hoping you will continue to post your floral work which was always beyond excellent IMO. Great to have you here again. >=))>
Both versions are fine, Gigi, but I do prefer the initial darker version for the mood it creates. I think we often get too caught up in filling the histogram at the sacrifice of creating a mood.
This gives me a vision of a diamond necklace on a beautiful flower Gigi. I love both of them, but I think I prefer the darker image with the water drops giving the impression of glittering diamonds. This is a great, moody image.
@SandyR-B, @Bill_Fach, @Dennis_Plank, @Ed_Williams I am grateful for your visits and comments. I am glad that you like this image. @Bill_Fach thanks for your too good words. I will divide my posts between the landscape and the floral categories.
