Northern Mockingbird

I think these guys are some of the most photogenic birds around.

Very good, Terry. I really like the pose and lighting. I was about to suggest that you could have taken a step to the right to get rid of the steel pole in the background, but that probably would have put the twig right over the Mockingbird’s face. The twig is a bit of a distraction, so you might want to consider getting rid of it.

Hi Terry, I love the eye on these birds and you have a nice look of this one. I like the overall pose. Too bad about the pole in the background and I agree with Dennis about removing the twig over the bird. Sharpness on the bird just seems fair to me. Still this is a pleasing image with the look from the mocker.

Hi Terry:

A pretty nice image of this bird. The overall detail on the bird is fair, but not great. I’m guessing noise reduction.

The twig over the bird is distracting as is the one in the lower right corner.

Here’s a version with those removed, some selective sharpening on the bird (which won’t be nearly as good as avoiding NR on the bird) and a bit of a vignette.

Thanks @Allen_Sparks, @Dennis_Plank, and @Keith_Bauer for all the notes and suggestions. Thanks, Keith for the rework. Looks great!
