Oh Shirley! Thanks a million for your dedication! So glad you’re staying, but maybe you can find your way back to photography soon. I know it’s been a tough time for you, and one I can hardly imagine. We will miss you in the Macro category. Your wizardry with the twin flash is awesome.
Shirley, your dedication both to NPN and your photography have been excellent. Sure hope to see you continuing in your “retirement” level. Best wishes as you move forward.
@Shirley_Freeman it has been a joy and a privilege to share the moderator duties with you and to watch how gracefully you endured through some tough times. I enjoyed our interactions and discussions about life and not merely photography. I’m hoping you will take advantage of the quieter pace and lessened demands to get refreshed. Thank you one and all for the support here at NPN, but especially I would like to thank you @David_Kingham for your trust in me to continue to be a moderator from the old NPN to the new, and for all you have done to improve the site. Thank you @Bonnie_Lampley @Kris_Smith @Mark_Seaver @Bill_Fach for your kind comments as well. Bill, it was truly a great experience working with you in Macro, and I also enjoyed our conversations about life. Kris, I also want to thank you for being a backup in Macro a few times when I was on travel. I have all intentions of continuing my membership here on this wonderful site with such a great community of photographers. Again, thanks everyone. Hopefully I will get my mojo back in photography as well and even have something worthy of posting.

Many thanks for all your hard work on Macro, Shirley, and for helping me when I started out here not so long ago. I have a special affinity - through family ties - with your home state of NC, and really enjoyed your macros. It will be great if you still continue to show us your work here, so please keep your camera at the ready!

I have been out of town for a couple of weeks and didn’t have my laptop or Wi-Fi available, so I have been off the grid. I didn’t even take my camera equipment with me so only had my phone camera. I did go to Great Falls up near DC. That was when I was wishing I had my camera! Again, thank you all. I appreciate it. I’m so glad to see Jim Zablotny is now moderating macro.

Shirley, I’m so late to seeing this! Belated as it is, I’ll add my appreciation and thanks for all you have done for NPN and for all the members. My very best wishes for you – I hope to see you look in here as you have time and inclination.
